That is a theory proposed by Gavin Menzies in his book, quot,quot suggesting that the Chinese landed on the west coast of America. However, much of Menzies information and sources have been criticized, some people saying that he relied on obviously faked maps and other fraudulent documents. I have not read the book, but it certainly seems interesting. Menzies also has another book out called, quotquot in which he suggests that the Chinese sailed to Italy and helped start the Renaissance and even provided the Italians with maps of the Americas. brbrThe notion that Native Americans or Vikings first discovered America is a little silly, only because the Native Americans were isolated from the rest of the world and because Europe had to rediscover America after the Vikings. brbrI also think it is very funny when people respond to questions about history which explore new theories, and clearly have no idea what they are talking about, while acting like they are experts on the topic, and only make themselves look like idiots.
